SME Training for Agentic AI Integration in Registered Apprenticeship Programs

Updated: Apr 8

In the realm of Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAP), the integration of Agentic AI technology is becoming increasingly crucial. To bridge the gap between traditional apprenticeship methods and the implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions, the concept of Subject Matter Expert (SME) training has emerged as a vital component.

One such program that stands out in this regard is the Georgia Eligible Trainer. This one-year online-accessible Related Training Instruction (RTI) program is tailor-made for SMEs looking to incorporate Agentic AI into their respective occupations listed on the Georgia Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL). The structure of the Georgia Eligible Trainer program is divided into two main phases: a 3-month (12 weeks) Pre-Apprenticeship phase followed by a 9-month (36 weeks) RAP phase, summing up to a comprehensive 48-week curriculum. Throughout this period, participants can expect to receive 3 hours of instruction per week, delivered in a virtual format encompassing audio, video, and text materials via the dedicated www.Eligible.Training website.

The primary objective of the Georgia Eligible Trainer program is to equip Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) Sponsors with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate Agentic AI into their operations. By focusing on occupations listed on the ETPL, the program aims to facilitate the acquisition of a USDOL Office of Apprenticeship Nationally Recognized Credential for Site Members.

Studio Farmer, Inc, an organization established in 2017 with a specific focus on advancing RAPs within urban forestry communities, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development and implementation of the Georgia Eligible Trainer program. Through its subsidiary, Snap Corp USA, a Georgia Public Benefit Corporation, Studio Farmer demonstrates a commitment to fostering sustainable work-based learning experiences for apprentices, land stewards, and fostering innovative partnerships in the field.

The emergence of programs like the Georgia Eligible Trainer underscores the evolving landscape of apprenticeships, where the fusion of traditional practices with state-of-the-art technologies is paving the way for a new era of skilled workforce development. As industries continue to embrace AI integration, initiatives like this are instrumental in ensuring that SMEs are well-equipped to navigate and harness the potential of Agentic AI in the realm of Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
